Crowns are one of the most common procedures available at any dentist’s office. Gateway Oral Health Center provides an uncommon approach to this common treatment. Everything we provide at our office in St. George, Utah, has been carefully selected to support your oral health and overall well-being while providing a pleasant experience.
Our team places crowns on the same day or in one visit with computer-aided manufacturing and design capabilities (CAD/CAM). At other offices, the crown process requires at least two appointments. The natural tooth and dental crown are prepared during the first appointment, and the permanent crown is later secured at a follow-up visit. Additional appointments may be necessary if the crown was not made right the first time. We have eliminated the need for more appointments, as our crowns are a “one-visit and done” treatment.
This system powers a unique, convenient, and efficient process. Such a computer-aided approach involves using advanced software and equipment to plan, design, fabricate, and refine your durable and aesthetically pleasing crown.
Much of the magic happens “behind the curtain.” So, we have made the whole treatment experience as easy and hassle-free as possible. Our dentists gently remove any decayed or damaged areas of your tooth. The tooth is also reshaped to ensure our custom-designed crown fits on top of it properly. All this preparation is done to a tooth that has been precisely numbed with local anesthetic. You won’t feel anything as we go to work to rebuild your tooth. We also use special technologies to comfortably and non-invasively collect information about your tooth, which our team then uses to make your new crown. Then, you sit back and relax while we make the crown on site.
Since we have effectively built an in-house dental lab using computer-aided design and manufacturing resources, Gateway Oral Health Center supports the ultimate quality control. We ensure that your crowns and other restorations are made to your precise specifications with the most biocompatible and natural-looking dental materials because we are the ones fabricating your new tooth structure—not an outside lab! These characteristics contribute favorably to crowns that can last many years (as long as you maintain good oral care).
We mill your crown from a premium block of dental ceramic. These high-performance ceramics are as attractive as they are durable and strong. We stand by their compatibility with natural tissues and safety as a biological or holistic dentistry practice. We encourage you to contact us today with more questions about your situation.
